OMG!
It's funny, sometimes you imagine that you're the only one with a guilty secret like the fact that you quite enjoy listening to Elton John tracks...
Back in the 1970's, one of my most played LP's was Elton's 'Yellow Brick Road' which I always thought difficult to beat for the quality of its lyrics combined with Elton's mastery of the piano.
However, I played it in secret as I didn't dare let on to anyone that I liked it as it would have been so deeply uncool that my credibility would have suffered a blow from which it could never recover! LOL
Those things seemed to matter so much back then.
I had the pleasure of meeting Elton John in 1972 when I managed to get a ticket for 'Top of the Pops'. He was a really nice guy who took his time to chat to the audience and sign autographs - unlike most of the other acts that day.
Tiny Dancer was always, and still remains, one of my favourite Elton tracks that I love to sing along to.
Thanks for for bringing back some good memories, A.
Yes guilty as charged! Cool to have reminded of a classic track tho'. Elton John was (ahem) pretty cool back then. Eccentric as always. But his songs WERE great. That album has so many childhood memories!
