Bless them all! I love those posters. Reminds me of the great contribution women made to the war effort. My gran from Canning Town worked at the ROF at Chorley in Lancashire from 1942 to 1945. Made bombs for the b*****ds who bombed the London she lived in till 1942. She became one of the "canary girls".

By the by, I see you showed some interest in football, so did you ever hear about Dick Kerr's ladies, a women's soccer team formed by ordnance factory workers from Preston. If you never heard about them, take a look. Awesome!

Thanks for the tip will do. Wonderful story about your gran. I also liked the "We could do with thousands more like you" tagline felt appropriate in a small way. It appears someone didnt think so and wasnt happy with my posts so tried to blank out my blog yesterday lol. I had to reboot it all and lost my links and cutomised bits but im back. Ill get working on the rest.

Alison, someone tried to take your blog down. Seriously? I heard there was a war on the blog by technos who did't like "ant Islamic" sites. They tried to bring down Michelle Malkin as well. Can outa Turkey. If this is the case yor in good company!
