Africa A Key Battleground

The New Year began with a spectacular and much-needed defeat for terrorism: in Somalia

Most Westerners still think of sub-Saharan Africa as the frontline in the battle against poverty and Aids, not terror. But the region is becoming an increasingly critical front in the global struggle against terrorism, as the events of the past few days in the Horn of Africa have demonstrated. To anybody with an interest in maintaining international stability, the march of globalisation and preventing fresh terror attacks around the globe, Africa warrants increasingly close scrutiny.

I love how the media plays this one out.
Back when the ICU took over I saw much praise from some muslim sites on how they would bring stability by defeating the "US backed warlords" ie.. the african union. Funny I never saw any mention from them after that of the somalians killed for watching football, or having music at a wedding ... ect ect..
now this ethiopian envolvment is called an attack on Islam and again it will be alllll the americans fault.
I know there is no need to go on into a rant here.....

Oh yes...i saw/see all that baloney in the western press too who seem very concerned the islamists are gone! As Mr Blair said re our own press it is used as a propaganda tool. You expect it on the muslim sites i suppose but it all stinks

I'm more worried about the Chinese influence in Africa than that of Islamist groups.

China also presents a long-term threat to western interests and it already has a large army and nuclear bombs.
